CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) is a state program by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) designed to improve health outcomes for Medi-Cal members with complex medical or social needs. It focuses on whole-person care by integrating medical, behavioral, and social services across the community.
The primary goal of CalAIM is to improve long-term health outcomes and quality of life for Medi-Cal members by addressing not only medical issues, but also the social and environmental factors that affect well-being. CalAIM is built on the belief that access to stable housing, nutritious food, and personal support are just as important as clinical care.
